Mondaine watches the latest brand to be introduced to wave in manchester City centre unveiled its signature Swiss Railway Clock at London’s Borough Market yesterday to commemorate the venue hosting a Swiss cultural centre during the 2012 Olympics.
The clock was unveiled in the heart of Borough Market together with a commemorative plaque in the presence of Ambassador Dominik Furgler; the Mayor of Southward, Councillor Sunil Chopra; the Dean of Southwark Cathedral, the Very Reverend Andrew Nunn; representatives from Borough Market and of course Mondaine’s brand guardian Derek Salter and Brigit Bircher, Mondaine’s brand manager from Switzerland.
“Our Mondaine Clock, one of the most globally recognised Swiss designs, fits the look and feel of Borough Market, perfectly. We are absolutely delighted to have participated in this historical day. It feels good knowing that for generations to come, our iconic clock will remind all that visit Borough Market of the special relationship between Switzerland the community of Southwark,” added Derek Salter.
Mondaine produces a range of watches based on the iconic design first created by Swiss railway employee Hans Hilfiker in the 1940s
